Faithful to His Promise: God’s Patience and Desire for All to Be Saved

Intro

Alright, Muscle Dogg here, and today we’re talkin’ about God’s patience, His faithfulness, and His desire for all people to turn to Him.A lot of folks wonder, “Why hasn’t Jesus come back yet?” or “Why does God allow so much evil in the world?”

But the Bible gives us the answer in found in 2 Peter 3:9. It says:

“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

That means God’s delay isn’t because He forgot about His promise—it’s because He’s giving people time to turn to Him. He doesn’t want anyone lost. Let’s break down what this means for us today.

1: God Keeps His Promises—But in His Timing

People have been waiting for Jesus to return for a long time, but God is never late.

Numbers 23:19 says:

“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?”

That means:

    •           If God said it, He will do it—His timing is perfect.

    •           Just because we’re impatient doesn’t mean He forgot His promise.

    •           Jesus WILL return, just like He said—He’s just giving people time to get right.

God’s patience is a sign of His mercy, not a sign of delay.

2: God Doesn’t Want Anyone to Perish

Some people think God enjoys punishing sinners, but that’s not His heart. He doesn’t want to see anyone lost—He gives every opportunity for people to repent.

Ezekiel 33:11 says:

“As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live.”

That means:

    •           God wants to save, not destroy.

    •           His delay in judgment is because He’s waiting for people to come to Him.

    •           No one is too far gone—His grace is available to all who repent.

But His patience won’t last forever—there’s a time when judgment will come.

3: Now is the Time to Repent

Just because Jesus hasn’t come back yet doesn’t mean we can take our time. Today is the day to turn to God.

2 Corinthians 6:2 says:

“I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”

That means:

    •           Don’t wait until it’s too late—tomorrow isn’t promised.

    •           God’s mercy is open now, but there will come a time when judgment will fall.

    •           If you haven’t surrendered to Jesus, now is the time.

God is giving the world a window of mercy—let’s not waste it.

Conclusion

God is faithful. He keeps His promises, He desires for everyone to be saved, and He’s giving time for people to repent. But that time won’t last forever—Jesus is coming back, and we need to be ready.

So, let me ask you: Are you using this time to grow closer to God, or are you taking His patience for granted? Are you ready for Jesus to return, or are you still waiting to make things right?

Call to Action (CTA)
